    People did rotten things, real and mythical, in the vast Leakin woodlands of West Baltimore. It’s an old story, going back decades, and the stuff of local legend: Leakin Park, where killers dump their victims or bury their bodies.

    Responding to last night’s meeting about safety in Leakin Park following the assault of a 71-year-old woman, City Councilman Kristerfer Burnett has outlined a number of steps being taken to address the community’s concerns.

    Baltimore Police have promised increased police presence in the sprawling West Baltimore park where the November 7 incident took place.  Read the Baltimore Brew article here.

    In the wake of a horrific crime in West Baltimore – the kidnapping and assault of a 71-year-old woman in Leakin Park – residents packed a community meeting last night.

    And after listening to police and elected officials urge them to call 311 to report their safety concerns, several people lashed out in frustration.  Read the full article here.

    It’s Baltimore’s most extensive park. Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park is the second largest woodland park in the country consisting of more than 1,000 acres. There are trails, scenic views, bird watching, but its widely known for reasons other than its beauty. Read the WMAR 2 News article here.
