This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Gwynns Falls-Leakin Park (FOGFLP) and the Chesapeake Water Environment Association (Chesapeake WEA).
Dead Run starts as a small rivulet in the Woodlawn area. By the time it reaches Leakin Park it's an urban stream that has picked up all kinds of litter. From there it makes its way to the Chesapeake Bay.
Come on out and help us clean up the stream.
We'll have coffee and snacks and gift cards to give away. (Courtesy of Chesapeake WEA)
We'll be both along the stream and in the stream. Please bring waders and waterproof gloves if you have them. And never leave home without a hat and a reusable water bottle.
FOGFLP will have grabbers and trash bags, and we'll have a limited number of gloves for folks who don't have gloves.
We will park and gather on Old Wetheredsville Rd. It's normally closed to traffic, but we'll open it up just for the cleanup.
Here's a Google Maps link.
And here's a view of where to pull off on to Old Wetheredsville Rd.
Where is the park?
On the western edge of Baltimore, right where Interstate 70 terminates.
