Join us to learn about the ecology of the pawpaw tree! We will meet at Winans Meadow (4500 Franklintown Rd.), and after a sweet treat we will travel along the Ravine and Franklintown trails before descending down the Gwynns Falls trail. This is rough terrain! Wear sturdy shoes and bring your filled water bottle.
PLEASE NOTE: our pawpaw groves are young and just developing. They do not produce many fruit yet. THERE MAY NOT BE ANY PAWPAWS ON THE TREES. If you are looking a for a good hike in nature, and are hoping to expand your knowledge of forest ecology, please join us. If you were hoping to pick paw paws, you will have better luck here.
Portapotties are available at Winans Meadow and along the way. Kids are welcome, but all participants should be able to keep up along unpaved hiking trails along uneven terrain.
Please register so that we can keep you updated in the event of a weather related schedule change.
