Welcome Back for the 2024 City Nature Challenge! We are hosting our annual BioBlitz to bring together our community, spend time in nature, and to catalogue all of the amazing species that we have here in our forest. We are tabling around the fire circle behind the nature center, and then breaking off for a series of events throughout the day. This is designed so you can come and go as you please! A host will announce the next event starting and you are welcome to hang out at the home base or head off on different talks and walks.
Scheduled events (more to come!): 11-11:45am: Guest Speaker; David Wood from Chesapeake Stormwater Network, introducing us to the world of Urban Stormwater Management, how the network manages it, and what residents can do to reduce harmful impacts of stormwater runoff. 12-12:30pm: Animal Encounter with one of Carrie Murray's Animal Ambassadors 1-1:45pm: Plants Emerging Scavenger Hunt: ID spring ephemerals with a Naturalist!
