Stream Cleanup in Partnership with the Chesapeake Water Environment Association

  • 19 Apr 2025
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (EDT)
  • 4500 N Franklintown Rd, Baltimore, MD 21229

In honor of Earth Day we're cleaning up Dead Run on Saturday, April 19

We'll stay out of the water and focus on the banks.

Even if the day is warm we recommend long pants and sleeves and sturdy shoes. Please bring work gloves if you have them. And never leave home without a hat and a water bottle.

  • FOGFLP will have grabbers and trash bags, and we'll have a limited number of gloves for folks who don't have gloves.
  • The Chesapeake Water Environment Association (CWEA) will provide coffee and snacks.

Please register here, so we know how many folks to expect.

Did You Know?

Dead Run starts as a small rivulet in the Woodlawn area. By the time it reaches Leakin Park it's an urban stream that has picked up all kinds of litter.

Near the intersection of Franklintown Rd and the old Wetheredsville Rd, Dead Run drains into the Gwynns Falls.

Gwynns Falls travels the length of Southwest Baltimore and empties into the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River at Ridgely's Cove.

This is where, Gwynnda the Good Wheel of the West gets to work gobbling up  litter and debris, preventing it from flowing into the Patapsco and the Chesapeake Bay.
