Park Run - Free 5k Run and Walk (23 May 2026)

This free 5K run occurs every Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. All ages are welcome. While many serious runners join us, Parkrun is not a race-- it is a fun run or walk for good health or to track your times. There is an optional social afterwards.

Kids and strollers are welcome. Dogs too! (one dog per runner). Participants tend to span all age groups and levels of fitness.

Our group of dedicated runners let almost nothing stop them, so we're out if it's sunny and beautiful, or if it's snowy and cold. Rarely, weather conditions or global pandemics do force us to re-route or cancel. Check out our Facebook page for last minute updates.

A Baltimore Tradition returns for the 39th year!

We are proud to partner with the Baltimore Herb Festival, a beloved annual event that draws over 1,500 visitors to the park each year.

This long-standing tradition celebrates gardening, herbal medicine, and the healing power of plants while introducing new audiences to the beauty of Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park.

Stop by to explore vendors, learn about herbs and wellness, and connect with the park in a new way.

Wildcraft 101: Navigate, Forage, Build

NOTE: This is a Carrie Murray Nature Center (CMNC) event taking place in Gwynns Falls-Leakin Park

Learn essential outdoor survival and bushcraft skills in the heart of Leakin Park. Practice navigation with a compass, identify edible and medicinal plants, try spark-starting a fire safely, and build a simple forest shelter. This hands-on workshop blends traditional know-how with modern conservation ethics. Perfect for ages 12+ (family-friendly adaptations available).

This is a Baltimore City Rec and Parks event taking place in the park.

Birds, Bourbon, and Bacon has quickly become one of Baltimore’s most talked-about events. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that brings together whiskey enthusiasts, brunch goers, and nature lovers. Attendees indulge in expertly curated bourbon tastings, savor tasty brunch dishes, and enjoy a unique atmosphere celebrating the beauty of nature at Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park -- Baltimore's 1,000 acre woodland park.

Tune In as Day Turns to Night at Carrie Murray

Experience the forest as it transitions from day to night. We’ll pause to notice birdsong, frogs, and wind, then use simple natural instruments—stones, sticks, and seed pods—to make music with the evening chorus.
